In the midst of cruelty,
I stood there alone bewildered.
But I don’t feel guilty,
The child in me they’ve already murdered.

Alive I was killed,
Yet found myself breathing.
But now with sorrow I’m filled,
Into depth I’m leading.

My soul turning from warm to cold,
From spectrum to blue.
I have nothing now to hold,
To joy I can no more glue.

Changing me into one of them,
From timid to wild.
Once upon a time I too was a gem,
I too was a child.
